The Journey Begins

I almost can't believe it myself.....I have dreamed of this day, I have dreamed of writing this blog, and right here right now it is happening. Our Gestational Carrier started her medications today! We are on our way to becoming parents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I go any further I want to back up a little bit and explain the journey that got us here! For three years almost to the month, we have been trying to figure out God's plan for us to have a family. We have with full furry knocked on every single door and went full force ahead trying to make something happen. Failed adoption attempts, failed carrier attempts, and just plain feelings like failures is what has molded us into who we are now. When I look back to the first time I started blogging 2 years ago I think how much we would still go through before getting to this point. In all of that pain there was a silver lining. Our marriage has grown stronger and most important of all our faith has grown by so much. We learned how to surrender the things we couldn't control, and I have had to come to a point where I know that the lord knows the desires of our hearts. He will do what is right in the timing that is right for him, and his timing is perfect.

I also happen to have some very wise friends ;). Mark and I had been counseling with an extremely spiritual, amazing couple for the last year. We met with them to work on growing our relationship with Christ and each other. We came to the conclusion that our family life and everything that God finds important had come second to work. We made a very huge leap of faith for Mark to join our business and live in God's Will. We believed Gods will is putting family first. Since then we have been blessed over and over again. Our wise friends told us, if we take a step towards the lord he will take many more steps towards us. It is starting to unfold for us and we are seeing his blessings. We own our own business so we still do 15 hour days almost every single day, but we do it together. We are a team working hard for our blessings!

I wanted to share all that led to this happening! To this very day where our gestational carrier is taking her first injection!!! I just can't begin to explain how amazing this is to us! When I say gestational carrier many may know the word surrogate as well. She is called a GS because they will be using Marks sperm and my eggs to create the embryo before transferring the embryo to her. She will carry the baby and  give birth to the baby but it will genetically be Mark and I. Pretty amazing stuff huh!

The next 6 weeks will be very intense. Mark and I will be spending a lot of time in Wichita where our fertility clinic is located. from October 19th on we will be there everyday or every other day. I hope to use this blog as a way to let our family and friends know what is going on. We have had so many people interested in the process I would love to share our journey with everyone!

I can't wait to share about our carrier, our nurse, the clinic and how it all came to be! I will be updating soon!
